A closer look

A sliding door or a wooden shutter rarely sits flush with its frame. We cast this latch from zinc alloy to catch across a flat jamb or around an inside corner. It flips closed by hand with no key to keep track of.

  • Two mounting angles. The strike plate seats flat along the wall or turns into the corner of the frame. That helps when the door hangs slightly forward of the trim and a straight bar will not reach across the gap.
  • Solid zinc alloy. The body is cast metal rather than bent sheet stock. It holds its shape against repeated daily flips without bending at the pivot point or wearing loose against the strike.
  • Keyless flip action. A swinging arm drops into the catch with a single thumb press from the inside. It works well on pantry doors, closet sliders, bathroom partitions, or light garden gates where you want a positive stop.
  • Checking the gap. Before driving screws into your trim, hold both halves against the closed door to verify clearance. The label beside this lists the exact footprint so you can check your frame width first.
