A dead battery or a flat tire on the shoulder leaves you waiting in the cold. We put together this trunk kit so you have the basic gear ready when a vehicle stops. The bag holds jumper cables, a tow strap, hand tools, and small care supplies until you need them.

• Heavy jumper cables. The copper-clad aluminum cables have flexible outer coating and sturdy spring clips at each end. They coil down flat in the bag and reach between two vehicle batteries without fighting stiff cold weather lines.
• Tow strap with hooks. The woven recovery strap has steel hooks on the ends for attaching to vehicle recovery points. It gives you a direct link to pull a vehicle out of a ditch or clear a shoulder.
• Trunk repair tools. A molded case inside holds basic hand tools including pliers, a hammer, a knife, and two screwdrivers. You can tighten a loose terminal or adjust a bracket on the side of the road.
