A closer look

Changing a watch band comes down to compressing a small sprung pin between two lugs without gouging the polished metal. We machined the tool ends to catch the shoulder of the pin clean. The set pairs the steel handle with replacement tips and an assortment of stainless steel spring bars.

• Forked tips that seat. The small fork catches the shoulder on a spring bar and draws it back in one movement. Both ends unthread when you need to swap to a plain pin or replace a worn point.
• Stainless steel bars. The included spring bars are stainless steel so they resist sweat and moisture at the wrist. Check the label beside this for the full list of lengths included in the kit.
• Grip on the handle. The body has textured bands cut into the steel so your fingers do not lose their place when you compress the spring. A silicone cap covers the point when the tool is set down.
• Lug width matching. Measure the distance between the watch lugs before choosing a pin from the assortment. The right length snaps into place with both shoulders seated deep in the lug holes.
