A closer look
A stripped fastener inside a plastic casing turns a simple battery swap into a headache. We put together these magnetic steel bits and slim opening tools so you can work on small fasteners without chewing up the metal or marring the seams of the shell. Check the label beside this for the complete list of driver heads.
- Magnetic steel bits. The bits are shaped from tough steel that seats deep into shallow recesses. Magnetism holds the loose screw right on the end of the driver so it will not drop down into an open chassis.
- Reaching recessed fasteners. Deeply set fasteners inside tight housings are hard to turn in a straight line. Use the solid extension rod or the flexible shaft to guide the tip down into narrow internal channels without forcing the angle.
- Prying and separating. Plastic clips on handheld gear scuff easily under metal edges. The kit includes thin plastic wedges, opening levers, a metal disassembly tool, and a suction cup for lifting glass panels clean away from their adhesive.
- Bench tools and storage. Tweezers handle thin ribbon cables while the cleaning brush clears lint out of tiny ports. Everything packs away into an Oxford cloth bag with a magnetic mat to keep loose hardware sitting right where you left it.
